Rio Ferdinand names three Manchester United players who have improved the most under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United might not have been outstanding at the weekend when they edged past Watford 2-1 at Old Trafford but it was further proof of the progress made under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer .

A game they would have probably drawn before the turn of the year was won thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, with the former proving to be one of Manchester United ’s key men in recent months.

Rashford has come on leaps and bounds since Solskjaer took over the reigns and United great Rio Ferdinand says he is one of three players to have improved significantly thanks to the Norwegian’s guidance.

But it’s not just the England international who has displayed the best version of himself since Jose Mourinho’s departure in December, with Ferdinand also highlighting the form of Paul Pogba and Victor Lindelof.

“Since Ole has come you would say (Marcus) Rashford, (Paul) Pogba and (Victor) Lindelof have been the most improved. Those three have been standouts for me,” Ferdinand told Goal.com .

But Ferdinand insists that Solskjaer’s influence on players must not stop there, with the former United defender explaining that his biggest challenge lies in getting the best out of Alexis Sanchez moving forward.

“He will be aiming to get the best out of Sanchez,” Ferdinand added. “Ole has gotten the best out of every other player in the squad since he has come. One of them is not going to do it. At the moment, Sanchez isn’t playing at the level that we have seen him play at Arsenal.

“He will want to get back to that for personal pride. Ole and his coaching staff will be aiming to get him back into that rhythm and producing that quality he had at Arsenal consistently at United.”
