Rio Ferdinand names four Champions League teams he thinks will progress to semi-finals

Rio Ferdinand has named the four teams he thinks will progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League now that the first legs of the quarters have all been played.

And surprisingly the Manchester United legend is predicting that THREE English teams will qualify for the next round.

Liverpool thumped Porto 2-0 in the first leg of their tie at Anfield on Tuesday and are favourites to beat their rivals in Portugal next time out.

And Ferdinand, who was speaking on BT Sport, is confident Liverpool will complete the job and progress to the semis.

Tottenham beat Manchester City 1-0 in the first leg of their respective quarter-final on Tuesday, meaning the tie is finely poised.

Man Utd fans love what Scott McTominay said after defeat by Barcelona

Spurs are obviously in the driving seat, but Manchester City are a serious force to be reckoned with and have the ability to turn the tie around at home.

Ferdinand is confident Tottenham will have enough about them however to see the tie out and qualify for the last-8 this season.

On Wednesday Ajax took on Juventus, with the Italian giants securing a vital away goal in a closely-contested 1-1 draw with the Dutch outfit.

Joel Glazer returns to Old Trafford for Man Utd vs Barcelona and sees a familiar story

The Old Lady are favourites to get the job done in Turin, and Ferdinand predicts Cristiano Ronaldo and co. will make it to the semi-final.

What Man Utd fans are saying about Scott McTominay after Barcelona defeat

The Red Devils have it all to do in Spain if they stand any chance of qualifying, meaning Barcelona are firm favourites to progress.

But Ferdinand thinks his beloved United can turn the tie around and progress if they take Barcelona on in the same way they did Paris Saint-Germain in the last-16.
