Rio Ferdinand makes Son Heung-min to Manchester United claim as Tottenham track Marcus Forss

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Wednesday, December 9.

Spurs keen on Forss

Tottenham are interested in signing Brentford forward Marcus Forss, according to a report from Eurosport.

Forss is a target for numerous sides across Europe - including Borussia Dortmund - but Daniel Levy is determined to secure the signing before it turns into a transfer battle.

The 21-year-old has only made five starts for the Bees so far this season, but he has scored seven times in all competitions.

Brentford have a recent history of producing talent that eventually flourishes in the Premier League - most recently, Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa.

Ferdinand makes Son claim

Rio Ferdinand has admitted that Tottenham star Son Heung-min would be one of his three dream Manchester United signings.

Son has been in sensational form early on this season - scoring 13 goals in all competitions and Ferdinand would love the South Korea international at his former club, United.

"But Son, man. If there was a player that I could take now [to Manchester United] that I feel would get the ball, he would be up there as one of my first picks, definitely in my top three," Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.

"I love the way he plays, he is direct, he hurts teams, wants to score all the time, can go off both feet and he looks like a fantastic lad as well, so who is the best Asian player to play in the Premier League?"

FA Cup tie details confirmed

Tottenham's third round FA Cup tie with non-League side Marine has been selected for television coverage.

Spurs were drawn against the Merseyside-based minnows following their 1-0 win versus Havant & Waterlooville at the end of October.

Now, it has been confirmed that the game between the Premier League side and the eighth-tier club will be broadcasted live on BBC One on Sunday, January 10 - with kick-off at 5pm.

Marine's stadium, Rossett Park, holds a capacity of 3,185, but they will only be able to let half of that amount into the ground due to coronavirus restrictions.
