Rio Ferdinand makes 'p***** off' claim about FSG and Liverpool

Rio Ferdinand has explained why Jurgen Klopp has every right to be annoyed with Liverpool’s owners John Henry and FSG.

The Reds agreed to be one of 12 founding members for a European Super League, but everything changed after less than 48 hours.

On Tuesday night, two days after the initial announcement, Liverpool and the other five English clubs announced their intentions to abandon plans to a new elite competition.

Klopp was forced to answer questions on the Super League on Monday night both before and after the Reds’ game against Leeds United. Club vice-captain James Milner was also asked about the proposals that day, with both publicly stating their stance against a Super League.

Ferdinand, speaking on his own Youtube channel, was angry at how the owners of the clubs involved left the players and managers to answer questions.

Klopp and Milner admitted that they weren’t aware of the plans before the announcement, and Ferdinand has slammed the owners and says they have ‘no respect’.

“The managers are having to do it, Klopp,” Ferdinand said.

"You can understand he was so angry, it was out of order and he doesn’t agree with it.

*How should football respond to the European Super League? Take our quick fan survey.

"They never once asked him, a geezer who has brought success to that football club at Liverpool never seen in the Premier League era, got them to an unbelievable place and they don’t even consider him.

“They didn’t even speak to him about their plans going forward, and then he has to go and face the media and answer questions, no wonder he’s p***** off.

“It’s out of order. No respect, no respect.

"People who are enhancing your investment as well, no respect for them.”
