Rio Ferdinand left baffled by Arsenal defender Rob Holding's reaction to Leeds United draw

Rio Ferdinand was left confused by Arsenal defender Rob Holding following Sunday's draw with Leeds United.

Leeds were looking to get back to winning ways against Mikel Arteta's side and they really should have done, having 25 shots and enjoying 67 per cent of possession.

They were even up against 10-men for forty minutes as Nicolas Pepe was shown a red card for head butting Ezgjan Alioski just after the break. The Whites hit the post twice as well as the crossbar but were ultimately unable to break the deadlock and the game ended goalless.

Centre-back Holding clearly knew how lucky the Gunners had been in surviving the onslaught and escaping with a draw as, upon the full whistle, he celebrated the result by pumping his arms into the air.

Ferdinand was left baffled by the gesture and believes it shows just how fortunate Arsenal were.

"I saw [Rob] Holding when the whistle went, delighted and fist-pumping," the former Leeds defender told the FIVE YouTube channel.

"I can understand that but I’m sure they will be looking for more because they were very fortunate to come away with a point because Leeds opened them up on numerous occasions.

"They couldn’t believe their luck.

"When Leeds came off that pitch, they were trudging off thinking, 'How the hell have we not won that game.'"
