Rio Ferdinand issues Paul Pogba verdict as Manchester United ace misses Arsenal clash

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged Paul Pogba to speak out publicly to bring an end to speculation on his future, after he missed the game against Arsenal through injury.

Question marks about Pogba's fitness cropped up regularly ahead of their trip to face Arsenal in the Premier League and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirmed before kick-off that he would be sidelined for a few more weeks.

There has been plenty of transfer speculation around the World Cup winner in recent months, with his outspoken agent Mino Raiola regularly issuing his views to the media.

But Ferdinand believes that has not helped the situation and has urged Pogba to speak himself to bring clarity to the sitatuation.

“It’s frustrating because he’s a talented player. They obviously knew two days ago minimum that he had an injury and he won’t be available to play in this game, now Ole has just confirmed that he’ll probably miss four, five or six games,” he told BT Sport.

“If I was someone advising Paul, I’d say go and speak out, you’re your own man, your voice is going to be heard the loudest. Don’t let your agent speak, shut your agent down, you speak and add some clarity to this situation.

“So that your fans know where you’re at, your team knows where you’re at and your club, your manager, those that are important know where you’re at.”
