Rio Ferdinand has put Son Heung-min in his Premier League team of the season ahead of Phil Foden.
For Tottenham, it was a very disappointing season in the top-flight, where they ended up finishing seventh thanks to a final day victory over Leicester City.
However, for some Spurs stars - namely Son and Harry Kane - it's been a brilliant campaign on a personal note.
The South Korea international, Son, finished the 2020/21 season on 22 goals and 17 assists - which totals to just under 40 direct goal involvements over four different competitions.
Ferdinand has recognised this and has therefore left Foden out of his best XI for the Premier League season.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the former Manchester United and England defender said: “In terms of assists and goals, Son, he killed it. Son was unbelievable.
“Son’s got 17 goals, 10 assists [in the Premier League].
“No one else can go in there. Like I say, Foden you could argue, maybe a little bit, but when you look at Son’s goals and assists record, he has to go in.”
Ferdinand isn't the only person to rave about the Spurs attacker in recent days, with Sir Alex Ferguson calling Son "excellent" last week.
The Manchester United legend recently said about Son: “Kane still is, and that boy Son at Tottenham, these are excellent players.”
Tottenham signed Son back in 2015 from Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen for around £22million - with his value surely rocketing ever since then.
Spurs will be determined to keep hold of the likes of Son, as well as his strike partner Kane - who has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the past week or so.
