Rio Ferdinand has expressed his concerns about Tottenham following their third consecutive defeat in the Premier League.
A 1-0 defeat against Chelsea saw Spurs concede pace in the hunt for a top-four finish once again, following on from the recent defeats against Liverpool and Brighton.
That has left Spurs seven points behind the top-four, albeit with a game in hand, but the performances have led to plenty of criticism.
Among those left frustrated by Spurs' latest display was former Manchester United man Ferdinand, who questioned their approach to the match and an apparent lack of a clear plan.
"It was an aimless performance. There was nothing about it, there was no personality. It seems like if Harry Kane doesn't play, the personality is drained straight out," he told BT Sport.
"No confidence, no character, no leader, there's nobody driving that team and whether that just comes from the players or the management that have to push that into the team, I think it's a combination of both and it just doesn't seem to be happening.
"We saw against Brighton, they were a team that looked like they were going for Champions League football and Spurs were just looking to stay out of the relegation zone, if you looked at it and didn't know where they were in the league.
"It's worrying for me. They're not far off the Champions League in terms of points but the way that they are performing in the last couple of games, that's a big worry for me.
"They rely on individuals. It doesn't strike me as a team philosophy, it's a case of get the ball to Kane or Heung-Min Son and we'll just stay at the back here. That's the concern for me as well."
