Rio Ferdinand explains when Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can start to be judged

Rio Ferdinand believes Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can start to be judged after the next transfer window.

Solskjaer has spent large parts of this season under pressure due to some disappointing results and performances.

But since the turn of the year, the Reds have been in fine form, and booked their place in the last eight of the FA Cup with a 3-0 win over Derby County on Thursday night.

And although Ferdinand believes that there is still work to be done at Old Trafford , the results over the last few weeks show things are heading into the right direction.

"They are still in transition. He is finding out about his players still," Ferdinand told BT Sport.

"He is trying to find a philosophy and work his way through transfer windows.

"This next window after this season is crucial. That's when you can really judge him on his body of work he has put in play before them.

“Doing well right now but still room for improvement obviously. But clean sheets galore at the moment and winning eight out of nine games.

"It's all going in the right direction, but again it is not job done yet, there is much to do still."
