Manchester United legend and BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand has admitted he would leave Tottenham Hotspur in search of trophies if he was Harry Kane.
The England skipper made his senior debut for the Lilywhites back in 2011 and has played a key part in the rise under Mauricio Pochettino, with Spurs fighting their way to become top-four regulars and Champions League finalists last season.
However, despite his sensational return for club and country, the 26-year-old is still awaiting the first piece of silverware in his career, with Spurs' last trophy being League Cup success in 2008.
Questions will be asked about the futures of a number of players if Spurs' drought goes on this season, with Kane among them, and Ferdinand has admitted he would have already pushed for an exit if he was in the striker's shoes.
"If you look at it as an individual, put yourself in Harry Kane’s shoes - I’m off. I’ve got to be honest with you, I’d be gone. Because I’ve not got time to hang around," he told BT Sport.
"I could get injured next season, I could lose form. I want to win now.
"I’ve given most of my career to this club and they haven’t got [trophies]. When you go very close, you can keep going very close.
"They’ve been close a few times to winning the league and, obviously, the Champions League."
