Rio Ferdinand confronted Manchester United fans calling for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's head following Sunday's damaging 2-0 defeat to West Ham .
The Red Devils legend leapt to the defence of the current United boss when he overheard chants of 'Ole out' whilst discussing the game with a United fan YouTube channel.
Fans have been frustrated recently with the club on a run of just three Premier League wins out of a possible 13 games under former striker Solskjaer.
And that is including Sunday's loss to the Hammers and the uninspiring end to last season that also saw them fail to automatically qualify for the Champions League.
After the loss to West Ham, Ferdinand was speaking to The United Stand channel, outside the London Stadium and the former captain and defender was asked about the sides lack of improvement under the Norwegian.
And at the insinuation of 'Ole out', Ferdinand said: "Where's that coming from? Ole out for what?
"Are we just going to keep changing managers every week, is that what everyone wants: You get a bad result, you change [the manager].
"Two weeks ago I didn't see people saying we want Ole out.
"And now it's changed after two weeks, come on man.
"It's too knee-jerk - sometimes you've just got to let a thing play out," Ferdinand concluded.
West Ham secured victory on home soil thanks to goals from winger Andriy Yarmolenko and a sensational free-kick from the returning Aaron Cresswell.
United's defeat away to the Hammers continued their seven month spell without a win on the road in the league.
