Rio Ferdinand has discussed Pep Guardiola's tactical approach for the Champions League final, following Manchester City's defeat to Chelsea.
Kai Havertz' first-half goal was enough to settle the showcase event in Porto, as City missed the opportunity to secure a treble.
City will certainly be disappointed with their performance, having not tested Chelsea enough defensively and having just a single shot on target across the 90 mins.
For the match, Guardiola sprung a surprise with his team selection after handing Raheem Sterling a rare Champions League start.

Another major talking point came in midfield, as Guardiola elected not to play with a more defensive-minded midfielder with both Fernandinho and Rodri out of the line-up.
That surprised the BT Sport pundits as well as fans on social media and Ferdinand assessed the decision after the match, having been asked if Guardiola was guilty of overthinking things tactical.
“I think that will be levelled at him, I’m sure, because he changed the way he played all season. He’s always had Rodri in there, or Fernandinho, and he didn’t do that today and he changed it," he replied.
"He must have seen something because I spoke to him earlier in the week and he seemed quietly confident. We all know tactically, he tinkers with his team, he might see a weakness somewhere but today, Tuchel, the way he set his team up today really nullified any threat this Man City team had.
"Today, they played with two wide men, really wide, Mahrez and Sterling, and they haven’t done that often this year. That might be one of the areas he maybe got wrong.”
City will now begin their preparations for next season, with the transfer window set to open in a few weeks and the fixtures for the Premier League campaign following soon after.
