Rio Ferdinand believes Liverpool could still attract Kylian Mbappe even if they weren't in the Champions League.
The Reds are in a battle to finish in the top four following a poor run of form.
Jurgen Klopp may look to reinvigorate his Liverpool squad this summer following a challenging season.
Their misfiring attack has come in for plenty of criticism and there have been calls for a reshuffle.
Mbappe has been linked with a mega money move to Anfield and is in the midst of negotiating a new deal at PSG.
The World Cup winner is arguably the hottest property in football and is already into his fourth year at the Parc des Princes.

Ferdinand believes Mbappe would be attracted by the style of play employed at Liverpool and the prospect of playing under Klopp.
He said on BT Sport: "I think they could (sign him) yeah. I think someone like Mbappe looks at the way Liverpool play and the manager.
"You look at the manager, the players of quality they've got.
"But the manager, is that a manager I want to play for? Klopp still is, yeah."
Mbappe has won everything there is to win in France with the Champions League the only thing missing from his CV.
The Parisians are desperate to rule Europe and retaining the 22-year-old is crucial for their ambitions.

But Mbappe has said he wants to take time before settling on his next move.
He told Telefoot: “We are talking with the club. I said that I am reflecting on it too, because I think it is a signature, that if I sign, I am investing myself for the long term into PSG.
"And I am very happy here. I have always been very happy here. The fans and the club have always helped me. And I will always be very thankful to the club.
"I want to think about what I want to do in the coming years, where I want to be, and that is now I will be reflecting on it.
"I think that yes, I will have to soon make a decision. But for now I am in deep thought. If I had the answer today, I would have given it today."
