Rio Ferdinand and Jamie Carragher disagree over Harry Kane missing Tottenham pre-season training

Jamie Carragher and Rio Ferdinand have disagreed over Harry Kane's decision to miss Tottenham training on Monday morning.

The news broke earlier todaythat the 28-year-old striker was absent at Hotspur Way for the training session he was scheduled to return to following his extended break due to international commitments.

Kane was due back after a recent holiday in the Bahamas, but his absence has fuelled speculation over his future at Spurs.

football.londonunderstands that other players such as Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have already returned to training to join up with Nuno Espirito Santo's squad following their exertions at the Copa America and Euros respectively.

Now, Carragher and Ferdinand have both taken to Twitter to discuss the matter and the former Liverpool and Manchester United defenders disagree on the matter.

Ferdinand initially tweeted: "Let @paulpogba not turn up for @ManUtd training and see how the English media and fans go mad!

"Helicopters & police forces out searching his location immediately (laughing emoji) #kane #PremierLeague #FootballNews".

The BT Sport pundit then added: "And I'm not saying that @HKane and his tactics to leave are wrong (if we are to believe what's being said).

"Harry wants trophies and he ain't getting any younger".

Carragher then replied to Ferdinand: "I disagree, it is wrong not to turn up for training.

"We all know he wants to go & can totally understand why. But Harry should not ruin his relationship with the supporters who idolise him just to get the move. Spurs will always be HIS club. #Kane".

Despite mass amount of speculation surrounding Kane's future, football.londonunderstands that Spurs are determined to keep hold of the England captain.
