Rio Ferdinand agrees with Gary Lineker and Robin van Persie about one Arsenal player

Bukayo Saka capped off a perfect week by scoring his first Premier League goal in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Wolves.

The Gunners winger ended speculation about his long-term future by signing a new four-year contract at the Emirates last Wednesday.

After announcing the contract extension, Saka wrote on social media: "London is my home. Arsenal my team.

"I'm so happy to finally announce my contract extension.

Mikel Arteta on Thomas Partey and transfer plans

"I love playing for this club and I'm looking forward to what the future holds.

"The hard work continues so I can continue living my dream. God is Great!!"

And former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes Arsenal should build their team around Saka's talent, as the academy graduate "buys into the philosophy" of the club.

He said on BT Sport: "I think Arsenal need people with the right attitude, right characters and people that want to be at the club.

"Looking at his statement, he buys into the philosophy, and he wants to move forward with the club.

"I would build the club around him, around players like Willock. The badge means something to these boys. They need to move forward together."

Ferdinand's praise was echoed by Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, who tweeted his admiration for Saka during Arsenal's 2-0 win over Southampton.

"What a delightful footballer, Bukayo Saka is," Lineker wrote. "Another cracking young English footballer. So much talent in our game now."

Former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie also hailed Saka following the 18-year-old's remarkable breakthrough season in north London.

"If you point out Saka, I’m a huge fan of his. He can play as a defender, he can play midfield, striker, not the main striker but on the wing," he told BT Sport.

"He’s a multi-talented player who can offer assists, goals, he’s a joy to watch.”
