Rio Ferdinand admits Tottenham star is one of his three dream Man United signings

Former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand has hinted that he would love the Red Devils to launch a transfer move for Tottenham Hotspur sensation Son Heung-min.

The South Korean international has been, in the eyes of many, the Premier League' most exciting watch this season, with his attacking play seemingly getting better and better as each week passes.

On Sunday, Son netted his 13th goal of the season in spectacular fashion, unleashing a long-range, curling effort into the top corner to help Spurs see off north London rivals Arsenal 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The attacker then followed up his sensational opener by teeing up striker Harry Kane for Spurs' second goal of the game, meaning he has now directly contributed to 19 goals in just 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

And it is that continuous level of performance that has left former England defender Ferdinand waxing lyrical about the 28-year-old's talents, hinting that he would love United to sign him.

"I have a got a question for you: 'Is Son the best Asian player to come to the Premier League?," Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE.

"Listen, I played with more of a player's player, but an absolute top player, top professional in Park Ji-sung.

"Park Ji-sung, you wanted him in your team. I remember he man-marked [Andrea] Pirlo out of a game once. Pirlo was waking up in the middle of the night and Ji was at the bottom of the bed waiting for him, giving him nightmares.

"But Son, man. If there was a player that I could take now [to Manchester United] that I feel would get the ball, he would be up there as one of my first picks, definitely in my top three.

"I love the way he plays, he is direct, he hurts teams, wants to score all the time, can go off both feet and he looks like a fantastic lad as well, so who is the best Asian player to play in the Premier League?"

Though Spurs' outstanding early-season form has been a collective effort, as their defensive record also makes impressive reading, Son has been central to their efforts.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man has scored 10 goals and registered three assists in just 11 Premier League matches so far this term, as he continues to go from strength to strength alongside Kane at the top end of the pitch.
