Ring expert shares 34p washing up liquid trick that gets jewellery sparkling clean

A ring expert has gone viral after sharing his hack for cleaning jewellery using a simple household cleaning item - and social media users have been left in awe over how "helpful" the trick is.

Michael Fallah, 36, runs his own jewellery business and recently shared a video in which he shared his everyday hack for cleaning the prized pieces in his jewellery collection.

In the clip, Michael shows viewers how to clean a diamond ring using nothing but household essentials - with his only products being warm water and washing up liquid.

First, the jeweller grabs a cup of warm water before adding a small amount of washing up liquid to it.

He then uses the mixture to give the ring a scrub with a toothbrush, leaving it looking sparkling clean and as good as new, with commenters left stunned by the results.

The clip, which was posted on TikTok to his @michaelarthurdiamonds account, received over 83,000 views and 5,900 likes, with one commenter stating: "Ooooh, this is so helpful!"

While another wrote: "Stunning! That's how I clean my rings as well!"

And a third commented: "I actually have a white gold GUGGI ring, but I'm super scared to try this!"

Washing up liquid is something that most of us have in our homes already so trying out the hack for yourself won't cost you a thing - but if you need to buy some, Asda sells the product for as little as 34p.

When he's not making waves with his life hacks on TikTok, Michael, from Sydney, Australia, spends his time at his own jewellery business, where he creates designs for clients who spend between $10,000 and $30,000 AUD (£5,670 to £17,070) per piece.

The jeweller, who fell in love with the art when he was 16, said: "I was working for different jewellers on the bench prior to starting my own business."

Michael launched his business in 2014, and specialises in engagement rings, wedding rings and other jewels.

He added: "I built a jewellery business from the ground up with no financial backing or support and in eight years I have grown the business into one of Australia’s top 50 businesses."
