Riley King, UGA baseball continue their roll of dominance

After having one game postponed and one game cancelled, the ninth ranked Georgia baseball team returned to action this Saturday against the Riverhawks of UMass-Lowell.

Led by redshirt sophomore Riley King, the Dawgs picked up where they left off last weekend, completely dominating the visitors from Massachusetts. Georgia won all three games by a combined score of 31-12.

After going 7-11 in last week’s series vs Dayton, Riley King continued to shine going 6-13 with seven RBIs and his second home run of the season.

Senior LJ Talley also added the offensive spark this weekend going 6-9 with two RBIs, a triple, and two home runs.

Graduate transfer from University of New Orleans, John Cable, began his Georgia career in grand fashion. Cable launched a grand slam to center field in the third inning for his first hit in the red and black.

Aside from the fireworks provided by the offensive side of the plate, Georgia’s pitching staff stifled UMass-Lowell’s bats. Sophomore Emerson Hancock took the mound on Friday firing 6.2 shutout innings with only two walks and 10 strikeouts.

Junior Will Proctor started the first game of a double header on Sunday going four innings, giving up two runs and getting second win of the season. Junior Tony Locey opened the second game of the doubleheader pitching five innings of three run ball while adding 10 strikeouts.

The undefeated #9 Georgia hosts LIU Brooklyn this Tuesday at 5:00.
