Rijeka goal hero puts boot into Aberdeen and accuses them of being negative

Rijeka goal hero Robert Muric has labelled Aberdeen a negative side that weren’t remotely interested in attacking.

The Croats won 2-0 against Derek McInnes ’ men in the Europa League third qualifying round first leg on Thursday as the Scots’ defensive strategy failed.

And Muric has warned the Dons they will score in the return leg at Pittodrie on Thursday.

The striker said: "Aberdeen came to Rijeka with no intention of trying to score a goal.

"In fact they did absolutely nothing, nothing at all.

"We fought them and attacked them even though they were clearly a powerful team and we easily scored a couple of goals.

"But as soon as we got into the dressing room, the boss told us immediately that a completely different story awaits us in Scotland.

"They need to score two goals, therefore they must attack us this time.

"But we are not a team who panics or loses our heads. Let them attack because that will leave space for us.

"We need to score as soon as possible because then they would need to score four goals and that won't happen."
