Rihanna superfan gets tattoo after meeting singer at Durham cricket ground in Chester-le-Street

When superstar Rihanna signed this fan's arm outside the Durham cricket ground, it was a moment she never wanted to forget.

So she has now got the star's autograph tattooed as an eternal tribute to her.

Cricket fans were left stunned when the world-renowned musician appeared at the Emirates Riverside ground, in Chester-le-Street, to watch the Cricket World Cup on Monday.

She was spotted in the crowd, cheering on West Indies against Sri Lanka.

And, after finding out she was there, one of her fans decided to visit the venue in the hope of catching a glimpse of the singer.

Rhiannon Brown admits she was "chancing it" and never expected to see her.

But to her delight, she not only met Rihanna but the star came over and signed her arm.

Rhiannon, 25, who went to the stadium with her partner Kayley Cowey, said: "We were not actually going to the ground, we were going to a driving range with Kayley's dad.

"He joked and said 'do you not want to go to the cricket ground instead?'. People had been saying Rihanna was there. I looked online and ChronicleLive was saying she had been spotted there.

"So we chanced it and turned up outside the ground, just to see if we could get a glimpse of her. I didn't think we would, but we then saw her leave the ground.

"We were not there that long. She waved at us and she stopped for me.

"I was surprised. I just thought she would get in a car and leave. When she did stop, I said 'please' and had the pen ready. She then signed my arm."

Rhiannon, who lives in Wallsend, says she has been a huge fan of the singer for many years and has previously met her at concert 'meet and greet' events.

The last time she met Rihanna, the superstar signed her ribs and Rhiannon later had that tattooed.

She decided to do the same this time and had the signature on her arm tattooed at The Wright Ink, in Cramlington, on Tuesday morning.

Rhiannon said: "When she signed my arm, I didn't have any words.

"I really like her. So she's definitely worth having on my arm that big."
