Rihanna is reportedly suing her father and accusing him of exploiting their last name.
The singer, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, filed a lawsuit against her father Ronald Fenty on Tuesday, Variety reported.
Rihanna accuses her father of having ignored several requests not to seek to conduct business on her behalf, according to the website.
The suit claims he attempted to trademark the Fenty name, even though the singer’s company has already done so.
Rihanna’s father is also accused of soliciting investments for a venture called Fenty Entertainment by claiming a connection to the singer on social media.
According to the suit, the singer’s father attempted to negotiate a tour deal for his daughter for more than $15m, despite having no connection to her business.
The filing also cites his partner, Moses Joktan Perkins, and says their “fraudulent conduct” is “particularly egregious”.
Rihanna launched her beauty brand, Fenty Beauty, in September 2017 to wide acclaim.
She then debuted a lingerie range called Savage X Fenty in 2018.
