Rihanna is being sued for copyright infringement by Canadian musicians King Khan and Saba Lou, after allegedly using their track to promote her beauty line without permission.

The father and daughter collaborated together on 2012 track “Good Habits (and Bad)”, which was used on an Instagram post shared by Rihanna that advertised accessories from her Fenty label.

According to legal documents seen by TMZ, Khan and Lou allege that they did not give Rihanna permission to use the song, saying that they suspect the track was ripped from a music streaming platform.

The pair are suing for unspecified damages and for Rihanna to stop using their song in the advert, noting that it was viewed more than 3.4 million times.

The Independent has contacted Rihanna’s representatives for comment.

“Good Habits (and Bad)” featured on Lou’s 2012 album Until The End. She released her latest album, Novum Ovum, in 2019.

Her father, Khan, performs with the groups King Khan and the Shrines and The King Khan and BBQ Show. He also performs as a solo artist. His next album, Opiate Them A**es, is due for release in January 2021.
