Rihanna says six-month-old baby boy is 'real cuddly' as she gives rare update

Rihanna has shared a rare update of her six-month-old baby boy, saying he is at the 'real cuddly stage'.

The singer welcomed her first child earlier this year with her partner ASAP Rocky and has been enjoying life as a mother.

She has been open about transitioning and how she has been getting on with her little boy.

The 34-year-old is yet to share her baby's name, saying she 'didn't get round to it yet'.

However, some fans think they have spotted a clue as to what it might be as the singing sensation has been seen with a pendant with a 'D' around her neck.

People reported that Rihanna said her son is 'funny' and 'happy'.

She said: "He is funny, he’s happy — and he’s fat! He’s amazing. It’s a real cuddly stage right now."

The update comes soon after Rihanna released her new song Lift Me Up for the upcoming Black Panther sequel, Wakanda Forever.

It is her first solo music since the 2016 album Anti but some fans have been left disappointed.

Lift Me Up features a stripped back melody, with the singer accompanied by a backing choir.

Following the release of the single, fans raced to Twitter to share their opinions and some people were far from happy.

One person wrote: "Im sorry but new Rihanna a snoozefest idc for it," while another agreed: "Yeah, this is a blockbuster snoozefest. Not what I had hoped for after the long break."

Another added: "This new Rihanna single ain't it."

A fourth commented: "Rihanna ruined my day."

One fan seemed torn about the song, saying: "It’s really good to hear Rihanna's voice again but Lift Me Up is not a comeback song, not even close."

However, there were others who seemed to enjoy the new track.

One said: "In the words of @gregjames 'today is @rihanna day'. The queen is back."

As another tweeted: "Rihanna's new song is so gorgeously hypnotic. Feels like the kind of song I'd do breathing exercises to, or play as I lay in the dark and let wash over me. It's so pretty."

A third fan said: "Rihanna’s song is also beautiful so it’s just tears today huh," while another added: "Look at what Rihanna has been starving me all these years. A queen."

Announcing the release of her new song, Rihanna shared a simple tweet which read: "#LiftMeUp."

According to Variety, the song is 'a tribute to the life and legacy of the late Chadwick Boseman' and was written by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna and Ryan Coogler, director of Wakanda Forever.

Chadwick tragically passed away in 2020 at the age of 43 following a secret four-year battle with colon cancer.
