New Rihanna single Bitch Better Have My Money has been drawing comparisons to another track of a similar name. Fans of the rapper Just Brittany have been pointing out its similarities to her 2014 song Betta Have My Money on social media.

Speculation about the two tracks began after a tweet by Just Brittany – since deleted – that suggested her track had some relation to Rihanna’s. According to Complex, she sent the following message to her followers:

@itsjustbrittany Betta Have My Money now on iTunes https://t.co/1ZnubvEz4m http://t.co/TgC5Avxyhr before @rihanna

Betta Have My Money has been out since February last year, while Rihanna’s new single got its first play only last week. However, both tracks draw on the 1988 blaxploitation parody film I’m Gonna Git You Sucka, quoting lines spoken by the character Fly Guy, played by Antonio Fargas. Rihanna has been explicit about this connection, and shared a short clip of the scene on Instagram ahead of her track’s official release on 26 March.

A spokesperson for Rihanna and Just Brittany have yet to comment on the issue.
