Rihanna looks almost unrecognisable as she swaps long locks for pixie haircut

Rihanna made fans do a double-take as she showed off her new hair while out for dinner in Santa Monica.

The chart-topping singer, 33, has recently been seen with a full head of dark brunette locks, but it appears the star has swapped long hair for a daring pixie haircut in her latest dramatic makeover.

She was spotted arriving at celebrity hotspot Giorgio Baldi for dinner on Wednesday, showing off her bold new look.

The songstress, who can pull off any look she chooses to go for, looked outstanding as she turned up to the restaurant late.

In typical RiRi fashion, she stunned in a statement outfit - a patterned blue vintage Christian Dior fur coat with huge sleeves, paired with a white cut-out crop top and green tie-dye jeans, as well as white heels.

The Fenty Beauty owner also covered up with sunglasses, adding her signature bold red lip to make the outfit pop.

It comes just weeks after Rihanna bought a lavish £10.08million ($13.8million) mansion in Beverly Hills.

Her new pad has plenty of space with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

And she has plenty of famous neighbours as the home is just across the street from Sir Paul McCartney.

Rihanna recently filed legal documents to trademark a collection of haircare products under the name of Fenty Hair.

The new line will include non-medicated dandruff shampoo, hair restoration lotions and hair glitter, relaxing tools, straighteners, curlers and hair colouring treatments.

Under her Fenty brand, Rihanna already sells underwear, skincare and makeup products.

Her business ventures also compliment her acting career, which included a memorable role in Ocean's 8.

Rihanna's fans have long awaited her return to music, with her last album, Anti, being released back in 2016.

Her last musical project came when she featured on PartyNextDoor's song Believe It last year.
