Rihanna has announced the birth of her third child with rapper A$AP Rocky.
The pop megastar shared a sweet picture of her holding the newborn baby girl with her 149million followers on Instagram.
The post also includes another photo of baby shoes and is captioned with the baby’s name - Rocki Irish Mayers - a day - September 13 - and a ribbon emoji.
Her daughter’s middle name, Irish, seems to honour her late father Ronald Fenty’s roots, reflecting his African, Irish, English and Scottish ancestry.
The couple announced their pregnancy during the Met Gala in May, where Rihanna appeared in a pinstripe look and a huge hat, her baby bump on display.
At the time, Rocky said: “It feels amazing, you know. It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up.
“And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ’cause we definitely happy.”
In July, speculation swirled that the couple were expecting a girl after they walked the blue carpet at the world premiere of Rihanna’s new Smurfs movie.
During a chat with Entertainment Tonight, host Kevin Frazier teased Rocky by asking, “Is that the girl you’ve been waiting for?”
The rapper grinned and replied, “It is, man, it is,” before quickly pivoting, holding up a Smurfette toy, voiced by his wife, and adding, “Right here, right here.”
When Frazier pressed him, “You know what I’m asking!” Rocky laughed and deftly sidestepped giving a straight answer.
In a recent interview with Elle for their October issue, the rapper admitted he was “praying” for a girl after previously welcoming two boys.
He told the outlet: “I hope it's a girl. I really do. We're praying for a girl. Our first time, we wanted to know the sex of the baby. The second time, we didn't want to know.
“Third time, we don't want to know until, you know. I feel like it's going to be a girl. This pregnancy is so different from the other two. You can tell from the experience. I hope it's a baby girl, man. I need that.”
Rihanna, 37, given birth to their second child, Riot Rose, in August 2023.
She had announced the pregnancy at her halftime Superbowl performance in February that year.
The couple made their relationship public in 2020 and welcomed their first child, RZA, in May 2022.
The unusual name is a tribute to rapper RZA, 54, leader of the Wu-Tang Clan.
The birth comes just months after A$AP Rocky was acquitted on firearms charges in Los Angeles in February. He leapt with joy into Rihanna's arms when the verdict was read.
