Ridvan Yilmaz 'loves' Rangers as agent fires clear message over transfer speculation

Ridvan Yilmaz LOVES Rangers and has no interest in leaving the Ibrox side.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst splashed out a £5million fee to land the left-back from Turkish giants Besiktas this summer but the full-back has made a slower start to life in Glasgow as many supporters expected. Borna Barisic was the main choice by the Dutchman - now sacked by the Light Blues - with Yilmaz struggling for top team minutes as he adjusted to his new surroundings and club.

The Turkey international was handed his chance in a Champions League tie with Napoli and impressed before getting the nod in the following game against Aberdeen. However, a major injury blow struck early on in that clash with the defender forced off. There has been plenty speculation over a return to his homeland just five months on from his big money transfer to Scotland.

But his agent Necdet Ergezen has quashed all talk of a departure by insisting he has no interest in leaving the club as he reiterated his strong feelings for Rangers.

Michael Beale is now in charge at Ibrox and that will present a clean slate and fresh start for the 21-year-old as he bids to be the No1 choice in the full-back position following his return from injury

Speaking to Football Scotland about his client, agent Mr Ergezen said: "He is a Rangers player and no interest of leaving the club.

"Injuries are the part of their business and he will come back. I don't know and haven't read anything about how he will leave.

"He loves the club and the club likes him."
