Riddrie police incident: Emergency services on scene after woman takes unwell

Police have locked down the area around Gartcraig Sorting Office due to an ongoing incident where a woman has taken unwell.

The woman took unwell just after 2pm on Gogar Street in the Riddrie area of Glasgow.

Eyewitnesses say that ambulances, police officers and police in helicopters are on the scene around Ruchazie Road.

They added that officers are undertaking door to door enquiries.

At present we are unaware the condition of the woman.

Officers remain on the scene as do two ambulance crews and two paramedic response units.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told Glasgow Live: “Around 2.05pm on Monday, 21 June, officers were called to a report of a woman taken unwell on Gogar Street, Glasgow.

"Police are currently at the scene.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1.19pm on June 11 to attend to an incident at 87 Gartcraig Road, Glasgow.

"Two ambulance crews and two paramedic response units were dispatched to the scene.”
