Ricochet stuns fans with jaw-dropping display of strength at NXT TakeOver: New York

Aleister Black and Ricochet said farewell to NXT tonight with a mind-blowing match against The War Raiders at NXT TakeOver: New York .

Hanson and Rowe pulled off all the stops to kick off the show in spectacular style by defeating The Dutch Destroyer and The One and Only in a tag team classic.

The loss surely marks the final NXT appearance for Black and Ricochet, with a shot at the WWE SmackDown Tag Titles on the horizon at WrestleMania this Sunday.

As with many past TakeOver events, the tag team title match was tasked with setting the pace for the evening, and given the four involved, they were always going to start the night on a high.

Both teams combinations of physicality and agility created a bout that was as much hard hitting as it was high octane.

Despite their impending big match, the challengers clearly wanted to enter MetLife Stadium with NXT gold.

This resulted in the pair trying things they normally wouldn't, including the high flying Ricochet pulling out an incredible fall away slam on the much bigger Hanson.

The highlight moment of the opener arguably came when Hanson would hit a cannonball Swanton onto the outside following a corkscrew dive from Ricochet.

In the end, it would be Ricochet who would come up short to the champions, falling victim to the Fall Out in the Raiders' first successful title defence at TakeOver.

The champions would leave their opponents in the ring to soak up the respect of the crowd, who showed their appreciation of their efforts over the past two years.

Ricochet in particular looked very emotional as he appeared to cry as the audience in the Barclays Center chanted "Thank you" and "You deserve it."
