Disgraced former AFL player agent Ricky Nixon has been arrested, reportedly for a social media post threatening to rape a two-year-old child.

Last Friday, Nixon reportedly posted a photo on Facebook of a two-year-old girl - the grandchild of a woman he’d been involved in an online argument with - with the caption “Next fuck”.

Victoria Police said: “A 52-year-old Port Melbourne man was arrested at an address on Bay St in relation to alleged telecommunications offences.

“He has been released pending further investigation.”

The online furore stems from the publication of Nixon’s tell-all book, My Side, about his spectacular fall from grace, stemming from his relationship with then 17-year-old Kim Duthie - the so-called “St Kilda schoolgirl” - in 2010 and 2011, which included allegations of drug use, and nude photos being posted online.

Nixon lost his player manager’s licence as a result of the affair.

Duthie fought the publication of the book, arguing it was defamatory. But Nixon’s legal team won the right to publish in the Victoria Supreme Court last week.

In the days since the book’s release, Nixon has been prolific on social media, and has found himself involved in a spate of online arguments.

After blocking a man on Facebook who called him “an idiot”, the man’s mother posted to Nixon on the same platform he “couldn’t handle the heat”.

Nixon allegedly responded by posting a picture of the woman’s two-year-old grand-daughter, with the caption “Next Fuck”.

The child’s mother posted on Facebook: “As the childs mother id really not like her face shown as this man has obviously gone through my mother fb to find the photo” (sic).

Nixon, a former footballer and once of the most influential player managers in the game, has a significant criminal history.

In 2009, Nixon had his driver’s licence suspended after drink-driving and slamming his car into the back of a stationary tram.

He faced again in 2013, charged with drink-driving and driving while his licence was suspended.

Also in 2013, Nixon pleaded guilty to assaulting his former fiancee, Tegan Gould.
