Ricky Martin his breaks silence after nephew drops allegations they had sexual relationship

Ricky Martin has broken his silence after the singer’s nephew decided to withdraw allegations that they’d had a sexual relationship.

The 50-year-old Puerto Rican musician took to social media where he shared a statement written by his attorneys after his 21-year-old nephew dropped the claims.

A judge has since suspended the temporary restraining order that had been placed against Martin.

The statement shared after the case was dropped read: “Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the Court.”

“The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure, and the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter.

“The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case. This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations with absolutely nothing to substantiate them. We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career.”

The statement is signed off by Martin’s attorneys, Joaquín Monserrate Matienzo, Carmelo Dávila and Harry Mansanet Pastrano.

Alongside the statement, Martin wrote: “Truth prevails.”

Earlier this month, a judge issued a restraining order against Martin after his nephew claimed that they had been in a seven-month relationship.

Martin has always fervently denied the allegations.

Earlier, his attorney had said: “Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be– involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew. The idea is not only untrue, it is disgusting.”

Although the case has been dropped, it appears that not all of Martin’s troubles are over just yet.

At the end of June, Martin’s former manager Rebecca Drucker sued him for $3 million in unpaid commissions, claiming that the singer had breached their contract.

She claims that “Martin fostered a toxic work environment wherein he constantly mistreated, manipulated, and lied.”
