Ricky Lightfoot and Kate Jenkins win 2019 Criffel Hill Race

Ricky Lightfoot charged to victory in the Criffel Hill Race on Sunday.

The Ellenborough AC member completed the course in 53 minutes and 56 seconds, nearly seven minutes clear of runner-up Stephen Winter of Shettleston Harriers. Third place went to George Foster.

The ladies’ winner was Kate Jenkins of Gala Harriers in 73 minutes 57 seconds, three minutes ahead of second placed Rosie Allen of Hartfell Hill Runners. Third was Joan Wilson of Lomond Hill Runners.

The race was organised by Ranjit Thomas and hosted by Dumfries Running Club, with proceeds from the race being donated to Moffat Mountain Rescue. 62 runners took part and Adam Dickie was the host club’s best-placed finisher as he came in 12th in 68 minutes 52 seconds.
