Ricky Hatton death: Claire Sweeney says she ‘cherished’ ex-partner

Boxer Ricky Hatton has died at the age of 46, with his body discovered at his home in Greater Manchester on Sunday morning.
Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that his death is not being treated as suspicious.
His ex-girlfriend, Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney, posted an emotional tribute on Instagram, stating she 'adored and cherished' him.
Hatton and Sweeney were long-time friends who dated for several months after appearing on Dancing On Ice in 2024, amicably splitting before Christmas but remaining in touch.
Hatton's family released a statement describing him as having 'a heart as big as his smile' and remembering him as 'one of boxing's greatest champions', acknowledging his public struggles with mental health and addiction.
