Ricky Gervais says you’re having a laugh expecting him to work from 9 to 5.
In fact, the funnyman toils for just EIGHT MINUTES a day on scripts.
He no longer agonises over scenes for his hit comedy-drama After Life.
Ricky, 59, who writes and directs the Netflix show about a journalist coping with the death of his wife, said: “I potter around, I have more than one thing on the go, so my attention span can be eight minutes at a time.
“I look at it like this – if I am writing a script and I have got six months to write, I only have to come up with a couple of minutes a day.
"That couple of minutes on screen is an afternoon’s filming.

“And because I am writing it for me to direct it everything is a bit quicker.”
Ricky has written a third series of After Life, which co-stars Kerry Godliman, 47.
He reckons his new work attitude before sitting down to a glass of red wine in the evening is paying off: “It has sort of been a revelation.
"I am very relaxed now about everything I do.”
Ricky added: “Often my laziness has been mistaken for integrity.”
