Ricky Burns in touching tribute to Coatbridge boxing legend Rab Bannan

Ricky Burns has joined the joined the tributes paid to Coatbridge boxing icon Rab Bannan.

It was revealed today that The Barn ABC stalwart had passed away.

For decades, kids have been kept on the straight and narrow by the discipline instilled at The Barn.

He played a key role in the development of three-weight world champion Burns on Lanarkshire.

Burns posted to Twitter: "My thoughts go out to all of Rab’s family, friends and to anyone who’s stepped through the doors at The Barn ABC and had the privilege of training alongside this man.
