Ricki the Warlock by Charlotte Levenson – review

Charlotte Levenson, Ricki the Warlock

I'm writing this review on a book my mum got me for Christmas, it's called Ricki The Warlock written by Charlotte Levenson.

It's about a boy who has magical powers as he is a warlock, but it is a secret and only him and his friend Gary know. Him and his friend prepare for a talent show to do magical tricks in front of the whole school and practise a lot and sometimes the tricks go wrong which is quite funny. But the talent show earns him and Gary a little respect from a few bullies.

My favourite part was when Ricki met Geoffrey at the retirement home where his mum works, I thought the language used by the author really related to me as I think like that when I meet old people. It is a funny fantasy book and the illustrations helped the book because they were funny.

I really enjoyed this book because it made me laugh a lot and some parts I actually laughed out loud. I think children of my age would love this book.
