Rick Stein's head chef Stephane Delourme comes to Sam's Riverside for three day residency

Sam's Riverside may be – as the name suggests – sat by the water, but now it's getting a taste of the Cornish seaside as Rick Stein's group head chef comes to Hammersmith.

Stephane Delourme, who oversees Rick and Jill Stein's 11 restaurants and pubs, will serve up a four-course supper on November 10 at the restaurant on the Thames, repeated for lunch and supper on November 11 and 12.

The residency marks something of a reunion for Delourme and the Sam of Sam's Riverside – restaurateur Sam Harrison – who first worked together between 1997 and 2001 at Stein's famed Seafood Restaurant in Padstow. Harrison was front of house as general manager, while Delourme headed up the kitchen, a role he would hold until his promotion last year.

The £80 pop-up menu, to which an optional £30 wine pairing can be added, will include scallops, clams with crab, venison and a tarte tatin made of quinces, which are presently in season, served with Calvados ice cream. Oysters will also be available.

Harrison said of the event: "I am so excited to be collaborating with Stephane again, and thrilled to have him here at Sam’s Riverside.

"It was great fun when I was working in Padstow alongside Stephane – we were a Frenchman and a Londoner doing our thing in Cornwall! Twenty years later and here we are, still with the same passion for hospitality and food. I think these will be really fun pop-up events.”
