Rick & Morty has more deaths per episode than any other show on streaming, report claims

Rick and Morty has been named the deadliest TV show currently available on streaming.

According to a study by BuzzBingo, the animated series outnumbers even The Walking Dead in its number of onscreen deaths, with an average of 26.1 deaths per episode.

That equates to 808 deaths across its three seasons and 31 episodes. Westworld, however, is only just behind with 25.9 deaths per episode, while The Walking Dead averages 23.2.

Earlier this year, creator Justin Roiland confirmed that he’s making 70 more episodes of the Adult Swim series, after the show was renewed for a fourth season.

However, there’s no confirmation as to when the new episodes might appear, with writer Ryan Ridley stating that there is a significant production time on the project.

He told Hypebeast: “They really take their time. I never understood why everybody – all parties, Dan, Justin, and Adult Swim – didn’t get their s*** together, and make the show fast. I just don’t get it. It doesn’t make any sense to me.”

“I’m sure they all have their reasons,” he continued. “I know how long this show takes to write, let alone animate. I’d be surprised if there was a fourth season on the air anytime sooner than 2019… late 2019. Get your s*** together, you guys. Get it all together, and put it in a backpack.”
