Rick Astley announces new UK arena tour ahead of Glastonbury opener

British pop icon and 80s favourite Rick Astley has announced that he will be performing at a series of venues across the UK next year as part of his Are We There Yet? tour.

The announcement comes ahead of his performance at Glastonbury this weekend, where the viral sensation will be opening the festival's main stage at 12pm on Saturday, June 24, before Guns N' Roses take to the stage later as headliners.

With a 30-year career behind him, Rick has enjoyed a unique, and well deserved, resurgence in popularity in recent years, sharing the stage with an array of rock legends including the Foo Fighters, Take That and Blossoms.

The upcoming tour dates include two nights at the historic Royal Abert Hall in London and will support the release of his new single "Dippin My Feet" which debuted at the Hampton Court Palace Festival in London over the weekend.

The latest single, which has also been played on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, is lifted from the lovable British singer's upcoming ninth album "Are We There Yet", which is due to be released on October 6.

As well as the London dates on November 1 and 2 this year, the singer will be embarking on a UK arena tour in 2024, with shows lined up for Nottingham, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow, Bournemouth and Birmingham between February 22 and March 2 next year.

Pop band The Feeling are expected to support Rick on the 2024 dates, along with global superstar and fellow 80s legend, Belinda Carlisle.

In addition to his appearance at Glastonbury, which is sure to be a treat for early risers, Rick will also be performing at a number of other festivals this summer including Standon Calling, Kendal Calling and Radio 2 Live in The Park.

The 2024 UK Arena Tour dates so far, include:

  • Thursday, February 22 - Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham
  • Friday, February 23 - Utilita Arena, Newcastle
  • Saturday, February 24 - First Direct Arena, Leeds
  • Monday, February 26 - International Arena, Cardiff
  • Tuesday, February 27 - OVO Hydro Arena, Glasgow
  • Thursday, February 29 - International Centre, Bournemouth
  • Friday, March 1 - Resorts World Arena, Birmingham
  • Saturday, March 1 - AO Arena, Manchester

How to get tickets to see Rick Astley

If you can't wait to see Rick rolling into any of his upcoming UK dates, here's how you can purchase tickets.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale on Wednesday, June 21 at 9.30am via the Ticketmaster website.

To be eligible for pre-sale fans must pre-order a copy of his new album by 7pm tonight (Tuesday, June 20) to gain access to the pre-sale in the morning.

The general ticket sale starts at 9.30am on Friday, June 23 also via Ticketmaster.

Tickets for the Royal Albert Hall dates in November will be available via the Royal Albert Hall website. Priority booking for Friends & Patrons opens at 9.30am on June, 22 and tickets will go on general sale at 9.30am on June, 23.
