The new season of Rick and Morty will be broadcast in the UK two months earlier than planned due to fan outcry.
Adult Swim‘s cult animated series returned after a two-year break in the US earlier this week, but British were originally going to have to wait until January 2020 to see the episode.
Following fan demand on social media, Channel 4 – who won rights to broadcast the show ahead of its addition to Netflix – revealed it would bring the release forward to next week.
Director of programmes Ian Katz tweeted: “You told us you were none too happy about having to wait till January to see Series 4 on Channel 4. We heard you! So we’re bringing forward its UK premiere.”
Rick and Morty’s season four premiere was acclaimed by critics and fans. The show follows an eccentric scientist and his grandson on their unpredictable adventures across the universe.
The first episode was dedicated to Mike Mendel, an Emmy Award-winning producer who died earlier this year.
Rick and Morty was created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. The first three seasons are available to stream on Netflix.
