Richmond Park's infamous 'Shed End' is no more as terrace loses roof for safety reasons

The infamous ‘Shed End’ at Richmond Park is no more.

Irish Mirror Sport understands the roof on the terrace behind the goal has been ripped off for health and safety reasons.

Away fans at St Pat’s matches will still be allowed to stand there but - for now - without cover from the elements.

Saints have not ruled out revamping the Shed End, but a tarpaulin cover may be used in the interim.

The Shed End built a reputation as one of the noisier stands in Irish football at the turn of the Millenium, and one of the Saints most prominent fan groups - the Shed End Invincibles - is named for the terrace.

But home fans have not been permitted at the Shed End for some time, with the terrace usually reserved only for large gatherings of away support when needed for the last few seasons.
