A 12-year-old child has been taken to hospital after being struck by a cyclist entering Richmond Park.

Both the child and the cyclist were injured in the collision at the Roehampton Gate entrance to the west London park.

Paramedics attended to both the cyclist and the child but only the infant was rushed to a west London hospital.

Police said the child’s injuries are not though life-threatening or changing.

No arrests were made.

Royal Parks Police tweeted a picture from the scene, adding: “Officers are currently on scene dealing with a collision between a cyclist and child in #RichmondPark. Please be careful near the entrance to Roehampton Cafe due to the emergency vehicles in the road.”

In February a cyclist was left with serious facial injuries after being hit by a car in the same park.

A Toyota hit the cyclist before smashing through barriers and spinning off the road at Ham Gate.

In images posted by police an elderly person is seen emerging from the totalled Toyota with a shopping bag.
