Richie James Jr., Jaquiski Tartt officially ruled out vs. Seahawks

The 49ers on Saturday downgraded a few players from their original designation on Friday’s status report.

Defensive lineman Kentavius Street was originally listed as ‘questionable’ with a non-COVID-19 illness. He was downgraded to ‘doubtful’ while he continues going through the COVID-19 protocols that players have to pass when they’re sick. The Athletic’s Matt Barrows wrote on Twitter that Street has to pass one more COVID-19 test before he can travel to Seattle.

Strong safety Jaquiski Tartt and wide receiver Richie James  on Friday were both ‘doubtful,’ and downgraded to ‘out’ for Sunday. It’s not a surprise that San Francisco officially chose to sideline both players. Tartt has a groin injury that kept him out of last week’s game. James hurt his ankle against the Patriots, and neither player practiced during the week.

To help combat the loss of Tartt and James, the 49ers flexed safety Johnathan Cyprien and River Cracraft from the practice squad. If Street can’t play, the 49ers will only have seven defensive linemen since they didn’t elevate one from the practice squad.
