Richest young sports stars in UK revealed as Premier League stars lead the way

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is now the third richest young sports star in the UK.

The Argentine has rocketed up the Sunday Times Rich List, with a wealth of around £58million.

Aguero earns a reported £250,000-a-week at the Etihad and that is enough to make him Britain's richest footballer.

Former golf world No.1 Rory McIlroy takes top spot with a wealth of £138million, ahead of Real Madrid and Wales superstar Gareth Bale.

World heavyweight Anthony Joshua is in fourth on the list, ahead of Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, Eden Hazard and Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez.

Sanchez's wealth is valued at £39million, thanks to a hefty increase since his move to Old Trafford.

The Chilean has been a disappointing signing for United from Arsenal with his wages standing at around £26million a year.

The rest of the shortlist is made up of Premier League stars including Sanchez's teammates Paul Pogba and David de Gea.

England stars Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling are new entries on the list while Andy Carroll, who has played just three times this season, comes in above them in 14th place.

Other members of the shortlist include Kevin de Bruyne, Willian, Daniel Sturridge, and Theo Walcott.
