Richarlison to Tottenham: Spurs handed transfer boost with Everton under pressure to sell Brazilian star

Tottenham remain in talks over a deal for Richarlison, with Everton under pressure to sell due to their financial concerns.

Spurs boss Antonio Conte wants to bolster his attack this summer and Richarlison has emerged as a top target.

Everton value the Brazilian at around £60million, but they are under pressure to sell amid concerns about their ability to comply with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules.

The Toffees recorded a loss of £120.9m for the 2020-21 season, which was the third campaign in a row where their losses have exceeded £100m.

Selling one of their star assets, such as Richarlison, would ease financial pressures and provide the club with a timely cash injection.

Tottenham have suggested using players as part of a deal for Richarlison, with the likes of Harry Winks and Steven Bergwijn put forward. However, it is thought Everton would prefer a straight cash deal.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was spotted having dinner with his Everton counterpart, Bill Kenwright, on Monday evening at a restaurant in Mayfair, with a deal for Richarlison a likely topic of conversation.

Spurs have also shown an interest in winger Anthony Gordon, who broke through under Frank Lampard last season, but Everton are very reluctant to let him go given he is still just 21 and under contract at Goodison Park until 2025.

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also attracted interest from clubs over the past 18 months, namely Arsenal, but there have so far been no offers for him during the current transfer window.
