Richarlison allays Tottenham injury concerns with brilliant video to Brazil World Cup squad

Tottenham star Richarlison is set to feature at the Qatar 2022 World Cup as the forward received a call-up to Tite's 26-man squad for the tournament. It comes as a joy and relief to the 25-year-old, who was a huge doubt for returning to action in time, having picked up an injury.

The Brazilian became a doubt after he suffered a calf injury against his former side Everton in October, limping off the pitch early in the second half. The forward was then pictured in emotional scenes, crying as he left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as his World Cup dream hung in the balance.

"It's kind of hard to say because it's so close to realising my dream [playing at the World Cup]," he told ESPN Brazil. "I've already suffered an injury similar to this, I hope it can heal as soon as possible, or less. I was stopped about two months at Everton."

While he is yet to return to action for Spurs, with just one game left before the international break, Antonio Conte confirmed he was going to be fit for the World Cup. "The player is not risking to miss the World Cup, absolutely not," The Italian said shortly after the injury. "He has an injury but it is not a serious injury. I hope he can play games for us before the World Cup."

The forward faced a race against time as Tite announced his squad on Monday afternoon, holding with bated breath the possible inclusion. Richarlison was subsequently named among the 26-man squad and shared a video of the moment he found out on social media.

The forward was pictured jumping around with what appeared to be friends and family, celebrating the momentous occasion. It will allow the forward to realise his dream of playing in the World Cup, one of football's grandest stages of them all.
