Richarlison's defiant two-word response as Premier League deny Everton star Burnley goal

Richarlison has shared his defiant response after seeing Everton's first goal against Burnley on Friday night taken away from him.

Many inside the stadium thought the Brazilian had given his side the lead in the 17th minute with a rasping left-foot strike from long range, sailing passed Tom Heaton into the far side of the Gwladys Street net.

However, when leaving the pitch, the 21-year-old would have been disappointed with what the scoresheet actually read.

Shortly after the ball hit the back of the net, replays showed Richarlison's shot had deflected off Burnley defender Ben Mee, so much so that it had been classed as an own goal.

Everton still chasing European prize as players show every match matters

That leaves the Everton man on 13 Premier League goals this season, denying him the chance of moving level with Robinho's 2008/09 tally of 14 and become the joint-second most prolific Brazilian in a single season in this division.

But Richarlison was defiant following the game, simply tweeting: "My goal."

Unfortunately for the Blues, it's unlikely the Premier League will change their mind at this point.

Richarlison was withdrawn early in the second half through injury on Friday, but will be hoping to end his campaign on a high if deemed fit for the trip to Spurs next weekend.
