Richarlison's agent reveals real reason he met Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Richarlison's agent has revealed that he did meet with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp - but not to discuss a transfer for the Everton forward.

UOL Esporte in Brazil claimed on Thursday that Renato Velasco had travelled to Klopp's house to discuss the possibility of his client becoming the first player since Abel Xavier in 2002 to cross the divide.

Everton officials dismissed the reports and the ECHO understands that Liverpool have no intention of making a move for a player that has quickly become a favourite at Goodison Park since making a £40m move from Watford last summer.

Richarlison Liverpool transfer links proof silly season is underway

However, it transpires that Velasco was indeed at Klopp's house - but only to drop off a friend of the Liverpool manager.

He reportedly told Sport Witness: "So my meeting with Klopp had nothing to do with Richarlison.

“I am an agent of a player of Germany (Noah Weißhaupt), of Freiburg and the U20 of Germany, where his father played with Klopp and they’re friends. So they did not see each other in time and I went to his house to take Marcos (the father).

“It has nothing to do with Richarlison, the people who made the link have added one thing to another.”

Richarlison has scored 13 goals in all competitions for the Toffees and is very much part of Marco Silva's long-term plan.
