Richarlison reignites war of words with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher in Instagram post

Former Everton striker Richarlison has continued his war of words with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.

The pair have been embroiled in a feud dating back to his time at Goodison Park, which has carried on after his summer move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Richarlison's latest quip comes hours after Antonio Conte's side were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Nottingham Forest. Goals from Renan Lodi and Jesse Lingard were the difference but the Premier League strugglers were forced to finish the tie with 10 men after Orel Mangala was given his marching orders.

The Brazilian was on the receiving end of a firm tackle from the Belgian central midfielder as the 24-year-old came from behind on Richarlison, leaving the 25-year-old in a heap.

Richarlison, who was named in Tite's World Cup squad this week, has just recovered from an injury that put his availability for this month's tournament in doubt.

Posting on his Instagram story following the challenge, he aimed a dig towards Carragher : "O silencio do @23_carra e enbsurdecedor. Vai eu fazer embaixadinha pra ve!!!"

His message translates to: "The silence of @23_carra [Jamie Carragher] is deafening. Watch me do kick-ups and see what happens."

The comment follows a statement made by the former Liverpool defender during Spurs' previous trip to the City Ground where Richarlison was showboating in the latter stages of their triumph.

Brennan Johnson took action into his own hands and firmly challenged his opponent. Commentating on the incident for Sky Sports, Carragher said in August: "It does wind people up. You can't do that. But what is he doing? He just winds people up that lad, Richarlison. He winds me up.

"What do you expect him [Brennan Johnson] to do? Yeah, you're not condoning this but... big Premier League game, passions are running high, superstars taking the mick."

Richarlison responded saying "wash your mouth" in an exchange on Twitter but during the coverage on the broadcaster, the pair were seen sharing a laugh and shaking hands.
