Richarlison makes Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti claim with Everton future plan

Richarlison has admitted he owes a 'great deal' to former Everton manager Marco Silva.

Silva signed Richarlison for Watford in the summer of 2017 from Brazilian outfit Fluminense in an £11.5m deal.

The forward then followed Silva to Everton the following season after the Portuguese was axed in acrimonious fashion midway through the previous campaign by Watford.

Richarlison became the first signing of the Marcel Brands era at Goodison Park and has subsequently scored 41 goals in 109 appearances for the club.

Carlo Ancelotti replaced Silva in 2019 after a string of poor results but the 23-year-old continues to speak highly of his former boss.

Richarlison said: "Definitely, Marco Silva was the one who brought me here to England. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here today.

"It was his request to sign me for Watford and he brought me here to Everton as well when he became manager. I remember it like it was yesterday, I was the first signing he asked for.

"I owe a great deal to Marco Silva, he trusted me and I trusted him, I think we had a great relationship and I was able to help him at both clubs."

Richarlison revealed earlier this week that he held mid-season talks with Ancelotti about his playing position before the Italian made a tactical tweak that led to him scoring six goals in six appearances during the New Year.

And he believes the three-time Champions League winner 'will be really good' for his development as he continues his progress at Everton.

How would you rate the performances of Richarlison this season? Let us know in the comment section.

Richarlison said: "It’s amazing. Knowing you’re working with a coach that has won practically everything in world football.

"He’s also trained the best players in the world, so it’s a massive honour to be coached by him.

"As a young player, I aim to continue to learn as much as possible from him which will be really good for my development here."
